THEO 1113 The Annals of Christendom I (3)

This is an introductory courses to Catholic theology.  Since the Trinity is the beginning and end of all things, students begin this study with an examination of doctrines relating to the mystery of God in his nature as Trinity and his salvific plan for humanity from the first part of the New Catechism.

Following with the Pentateuch, this course also serves as an introductory study of sacred scripture and other documents from ancient Israel to the birth of the church at Pentecost and subsequent destruction of the Temple in 70 AD. It is taught against the background of The History of the Catholic Church, by Msgr. Phillip Hughes, excerpts from Eusebius' Eccelistical History, and Josephus' History of the Jews.
